Master Programme

Master of Science in Industrial Engineering

Penn State's MS in Industrial Engineering, from the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, needs 32 credits including two credits of IE colloquium. Everyone takes linear programming and experimental design in engineering. Students then choose a non-thesis track (27 course credits ending with a capstone course or a research paper) or a thesis track (24 course credits plus six research credits and a publishable-quality thesis). A dual-title degree with Operations Research is also possible. An online MEng in Industrial Engineering is offered separately through World Campus.
